>Dash being the one responsible for ponies getting hurt kinda sucks
But that is also the message of the fic, isn't it? The whole "doing you best even if it's not ideal" is in the fic's description, and it's the one of the main things it tries to show over the entire duration of the story. She made things better, and she most likely saved the lives of a lot of ponies. It wasn't a very long part of the fic, but I think the fic handled her learning about the consequences of her actions just fine.
>An interesting thing is that Dash is always moving;
Yeah, she lives and dies with her momentum. When she stops, things are clearly going poorly. I think that's true of the show's Dash as well. I also liked how "pegasus" the fic felt. It's not that often that the fic manages to convey this sense of freedom and just flying as well as this fic does it.
>I can't believe Spike died off screen.
Kek, I completely forgot about him! ...And so did the author, apparently. But that's not too bad—fics forgetting Spike can't be a sin.
>The first scene showcases it excellently,
Well, extremely bluntly, but yes, it is effective in getting the readers on the same page. It wasn't until the fic's climax that I thought it was a little too much.
>separating being a Bolt (will) and herself (instinct), and as she develops over the course of the story,
Ooh, I probably have to take back the above point, seeing as I somehow didn't catch that. Very neat bit of storytelling.

>"This is kinda boring."
The fic has this introspective tone that makes the non-action parts play out more slowly. The middle half of the fic isn't like this, if you ever decide to give it another shot. But I also didn't think it was, like, one of the top N fics on the site. Good? Yes, definitely. Amazing? Eh, maybe if this kind of a fic really appeals to you.
