Actually you're wrong, marines have consistently lost models since 8th edition. The only things that have gotten updated in three editions are Terminators, Scouts, and Drop Pods. And the new Drop Pods suck. Otherwise they've lost pretty much half the codex, including virtually all of their HQ options.
