Ok I think I get Taleb's argument.

People who value intelligence, culture, civilization and all kinds of refinements (I do not), do not like IQ because it is not "intelligent" enough, such a metric must in their mind characterize exactly what "intelligence" is, something exquisitely nuanced. They want it to be like program running time, whereas IQ is like CPU clock frequency.

No surprise then that he is trapped in the classical ought/is dilemma. The fact he goes for social metrics to determine whether IQ is relevant, show that it only correlates very weakly and determine that IQ is thus bunk as a measure of intelligence (this ineffable, sacred thing), just shows that he cannot conceive of a society that wouldn't value intelligence, and not because he's a fat dogmatic retard, but because what he equates with intelligence is basically being successful, it's raw will to power. Sometimes it even negates itself!

Understandably so, since as the highest value, it can never be represented, enunciated, spoken captured into words, only incarnated. Taleb surely is that kind of dynamite.
