It's sad that some of you guys can't comprehend a character who is mature and good. He needs to have "flaws" that make him vulnerable to corruption.
There are good people who actually exist. There are people who have principles that they won't waver. These things can intersect. Sonic is a great character. Just let him be Sonic. Stop trying to make him IDWnic or Archienic or Movienic. Just let Sonic be Sonic.

Look at this guy. He's one of the most iconic characters in all of videogames because of his nature. I don't know why you're so desperate to change him.
"He makes the other characters stupid" is a blunt and horrible way to get your point across. Sonic is the one the kids are supposed to look up to. Not Knuckles, Tails, or Amy. It's only natural that there is some bias in how Sonic is portrayed.
I'm tired of people spamming the Eggmoon to mock the idea. Yes, it's stupid. But the point is quite poetic. It gets across that Sonic does whatever he feels like without restrictions and that by leading by example he can make the world a better place.

I think Sonic Prime understood Sonic better than IDW. That hurts to say because IDW was made by fans and Prime was not. But Sonic Prime is about Sonic going to horrible places and helping good people make their worlds better. IDW is built on deconstructing Sonic and explaining the dark side of his actions. Creating characters Sonic can't inspire.
The only IDW character who currently is better now because of Sonic is Lanolin. Fucking Lanolin. IDW is clearly made by people who love Sonic but maybe too much because they do fanfiction things like try and pick apart Sonic's nature.

You aren't supposed to do this. Sonic isn't an argument. Sonic is Sonic.
