Well, from my experience working databases and servers in general, they don't ask that kind of question from the coders, the number one thing we ask is if they understand how to the tools and we do background checks to see if they weren't tthe direct cause for some catastrophic fuck up.

Managers are whole different beast that deal with more "esoteric" bullshit and I have seen more than once people who had massive red flags all over get hire anyway

Workers do have pride when the company threats them decently and isn't know for being a fuck up, the problem is that as companies get bigger, the greed gets out of control and everything goes to shit
