I've liked formchanges ever since Lingering Will. But I'm wondering if scrap and build for IV is just a slightly different version of that. If that is what Sora is going in the trailer when he creates that light drill from the Darkside. So rather than changing your keyblade you create constructs out of darkness/light which changes your fighting style briefly. Maybe the constructs you create are determinant on which type of enemy you're fighting, or how powerful they are in order to gather enough light/darkness to create a weapon. They could combine it a little with the attraction mechanic too with some constructs being more vehicular or like mobile weapon platforms.
