I feel like I'm in the minority, but I prefer the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers to the 70s one. Same with the 50s The Blob vs the 80s remake, although to a much lesser extent.
Better special effects in the remakes, but the 50s setting and style gives a better atmosphere for these sci-fi stories.
