>What OoT would be like if it stayed faithful to Zelda 1?
OoT never tried to be faithful to Zelda 1. It drank the soul out of LttP and Zelda 2 though.
If we go by the gigaleak, it might have began as a sequel/remake to Zelda 2 on the SNES (where do you think enemies like Iron Knuckles or Volvagia came from?). The project (seemingly) later moved over to the N64, initially known as Zelda 64, before evolving into its own unique game.
In summary: They took the overall combat feeling from Zelda 2 and tried adapting it into 3D. They took the dungeon puzzles from LA and attempted that in a 3D dungeon. They took the overworld and dark world of LttP and tried doing something similar in a 3D enviroment.
Without Zelda 2, LttP and LA you don't have OoT.
