Not you but I hate when people use that excuse. Donkey Kong Country is what made DK evolve into what he is today, not only in terms aesthetics but the gameplay, and remained that way for 30 years. You don't see Mario randomly going back to his jumpman design with the inverted colors and looking like a middle-aged, popeye looking man. So why is everyone just expected to accept the change when it comes to DK?
