i searched up the link you posted which googled it instead for some reason and i saw your two other reddit posts crossposting this issue, idk how to feel about that but just a heads up if you practise opsec

anyway the way i see it you have four options, 1) go to a junkyard, pull a replacement part and replace it. You dont need to know what it is or what it does, just replace it and be done with it. 2) source a service manual for your car to find a mention of the part (probably get one from annas archive or something, just pirate the information) 3) join a facebook group for your car and ask what it is 4) clean, physically inspect, find out its function with your mechanical knowledge and repair the part because the way you describe the issue i dont know why you cant just fix what you have in your hand and keep going
