Nothing changed for me, personally. It always charmed my pants off and I never had any epiphany moment besides just playing it for the first time back when it was new. It captured my imagination with its strangely welcoming world, and the cutscenes are basically straight from the golden era of anime. If it were within my power, there'd be a lot more games like it.
