I have >200k USD in my account so I'm not poor but I'm not rich either, I COULD buy a super sick AI machine, but it feels irresponsible to do so and I'm getting reverse-FOMO for next-generation machines making things I buy now obsolete within a couple years. So for now I cope with 12GB VRAM. At least it's enough to do images and Nemo, but I'm very tempted to get a double 5090 setup for 70B text models and local imagegen
