I think what gets me about this, all of this really, is how bizarrely desperate it comes off. It's not actually based off anything legitimate. Nothing actually worth being this booty bothered about. What it is, is what shitposters want to be real. They want him to be like this, this absurd parody of your standard template, in offensive shounen MC, because they want to be mad about it. To go "see? See of pathetic this dude is? How could this very real thing have happened? Doesn't it disgust you?" And have that be a serious point and not an on going, bewildering, campaign against sense.

Given the most milquetoast, mild ending to a power fantasy shounen story, a section of the western fanbase collapsed into a singularity of shitposting, making fun of a thing that only exists in their own heads. Born out of a cauldron of bizarre, displaced pornographic memes, we're left with a radioactive set of nonsense, entirely divorced from anything that actually happened in the manga. Just another proxy war about gender dynamics.
