To my knowledge they are just “tame” dogs that went bush not long after the Aboriginals migrated here (and are the main reason why there’s no marsupial predators bigger than a Quoll on the mainland), their closest relatives are the Papuan Singing Dog (pictured above). If your a full grown man in good health you should be able to scare ‘em off, Wild Dogs will not care and will just kill you since they are used to bringing down Wildebeests and shit
