>IDK if you're still testing, and I don't know how you were deciding dot placement, but maybe try measuring from the floor or wall (with your foot against it) to see if the markings are in distinctly different locations
Yes I'm still testing, it is just I had some unrelated things to do and it prevented me from reporting in time, just as always. As I expected, nothing changed, I had a couple of days when, for example, a measurement on the middle got bigger by 3mm but the other ones didn't and on the next day it was back to normal and I assume that I just mismeasured
Speaking of markings changing their location, I thought about that this could happen slowly because marks will be redrawn not ideally in the same spot. But I was using a set of threads initially and, as you can remember, the results were the same. If the mark had moved higher or lower, I would have noticed it, because the length of the thread would not have been enough to connect its ends or they would have overlapped.
I used dots then, but now I draw parallel lines because I wanted to be double sure that marks won't move anywhere but I have a suspicion that this worked in the opposite of a desired direction because lines get smeared more than dots and the chance to redraw it inaccurately is increased.
I don't know what to do right now, maybe just test 2,1ml, but I can only start on the day after tomorrow.
I will measure on the floor with my foot against the wall and make marks on the floor to see if markings on the leg move anywhere, but it should be taken into account that legs aren't round and the most stable position that the measuring tape can get is not horizontal and parallel to the ground but a bit diagonal.
