A bodykit upgrade EF could be a pretty good stop-gap, with new avionic and EW, can easily see it going toe to toe with the f-35, possibly even edge it in some situation.
the EF was created with A2A as its 1st priority, after all
F-35 should be the 1st choice over it in deep strike mission, though
