What the fuck happened the the Xeno series?

Why did it get so watered down and kiddified?

To go from Xenogears and Xenosaga to Blushy Crushy and generic anime tropes is utterly embarrasing. The stories in Xenoblade are just rehashing stories and themes already told in past JRPGs.
