Doesn't work with TT wargaming and it doesn't work as a setting to base books, games, tv and movies in. All that means is no one cares about it at all. Think about 40k for example. Abbadon has been around for 38 years. There is a core of named individuals, armies, factions, worlds, cultures and events that affect them in 40k for 38 fucking years. Sure, things change like Horus not just being a rogue general, Black Templars USED to be non religious and fanatic Imperial Truth promoters - the only ones left for a long time.
Not every change is good but there is history and pedigree there. AoS, if it exists in 30 years, by design has nothing to to establish or attach itself to. All they can do is reference WHFB and try to get people to accept it wearing its skin.
AoS is literally a transvestite setting. It is wearing the skin of something it is not, and can never really be and everyone involved is insisting you ignore your lying eyes and ears.
