While this is correct they were not a canon chapter nor was the events of Dawn of War canon until years later. CA could literally copy relic and just make an OC first but they would have to actually have some kind of in house passion for the setting to do it well enough.

Is this CA Sofia's first Warhammer DLC by (mostly) themselves? I assume they've done supplementary model work and stuff but nothing major, and by the dev diary or whatever it seems like the big team at CA is working on something with input being the only thing given to Sofia. They have a decent enough track record, none of their DLC for stuff like Rome 2 was outright terrible and their TW titles are mostly hampered by being smaller scales amped up to give the illusion of major releases. I don't want to see them relegated to "subpar WoC" and I'd prefer to see them made into a "Chaos" faction focused on things outside of just Chaos Warriors. Their lategame powerhouses like Skinwolves and Mammoths are still pretty good, it's just getting there sucks and it's not particularly fun to just SEM spam with Wulfrik. Give them some stuff to make it feel like you're sailing to and fro on longboats setting up places to sail loot back to home from

Giant Hawks are ridiculously good for sieges. I'm not sure if they have collision attacks or something on top of their AP, but two charges will break even armored elite infantry. Very viable and in fact how I played my Drycha campaign.

The only way to play Cathay and make it fun. They enemy will tire and run out of arrows eventually, but chinamanii can keep coming. Peasants having charge defense against all + massive recruit rank bonuses with PO building make it work quite well, as long as you are ok with constantly losing armies.

Surprisingly the least viable one. Corsairs are rather expensive for what they are and you'll struggle with both armor and recruitment speed to throw bodies at problems. Once enemy starts fielding armored troops you're pretty much fucked.

Works. Ku´gath is a single man doomstack on his own. Nurglings wont do much but who cares.
