It started a wave of some of the worst anime tropes in existence and completely ruined romance as a genre for many years to come. I'm not saying Love Hina invented time wasting harem shenanigans where every character's relationship progress gets reset at the end of the day as well as male MC getting pummeled by the female characters when he catches a glimpse of them in the bath (happens every episode), but it popularized it enough to be a huge culprit behind the crime.
