I don't know if I'd like human Nicole, or the idea of her getting her body back permanently. Good Animals vs Bad Humans is easy symbolism for kids, I feel like she'd become a weird kid-audience surrogate like Chris if they went that route, unless it was specifically how they ended the series.
While Nicole being a rebelled Robotnik "creation" was a missed opportunity, I really like the Nicole we ended up getting instead. She has a top-tier design too, save for her preboot feet sometimes being distractingly drawn like Garfield.
