My take is that whoever is astroturfing the shit out of this talking point should try and fix other shit societally instead of going after entertainment. Video games being poison and killing society has been a meme since before 80% of the users of this board were even born.
Before video games it was film, before film it was music, before music it was the radio, before the radio it was books, the boogieman keeps shifting because it's a fucking grift, always the latest technology is the "real" evil and satanic shit which surely will end society unless good little boys and girls go say no to the "new drug". Blaming entertainment is the easy way out, looking at how fucked up your society is that people feel the need to escape into entertainment is much harder to do because everybody likes to think they were the masters of their own success instead of luckshitters who narrowly escaped falling through the cracks.
tl;dr get the fuck out with your washed up talking points. if it's not the liberales crying tears of blood about sexism and racism in video games, it's the rightoids shitting themselves over video games being addictive. Kill yourselves, please, do it.
