It's not unprompted. They admittedly created some great ideas out of nowhere, i.e in HOTN making Reachmen worship Xarxes and behaving more like disgruntled isolationist natives, more closely resembling Nedes rather than ALLAHU AKBAR Daedra worshipping terrorists, but they outright canned all of the dragon lore for no fucking reason. The most interesting lore from the actual games was tossed.
