Mad scientist is a timeless top tier villian trop, the fact that you cant even recognise this within comic books with guys like like Dr. Doom, Dr Sivana, The Tinkerer, Modok, The Leader, Mr Sinister, Hugo Strange hell fucking LEX LUTHOR.
Not even that but its a timeless tradition that goes back to the origins of science fiction writing with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Jekyll and Hyde, just two of the greatest books in classic literature
