You ride a bike with a drum rear brake and a bouncy/wobbly rear end 200 miles and see how you fare. I nearly got killed on it, so I was happy to see it go when I sold it. I miss it a bit, but it would've killed me.
Let me be clear, it was the age on the components that were the problem, not the overall design.
