>the vast majority aren't looking for anything deeper
This has been the case for decades. What you're missing is that more and more people are DROPPING OUT of the mainstream the moment they find some other shit that tickles their fancy, because they can access it now and the divide between corpo slop and art with care is really stark now.
Yes boomers, most of genx, and a shitload of millenials and zoomers are still embroiled in the mainstream but as time goes on things are fragmenting more and more.
>what would've been "deep" doesnt have a chance anymore because of the flooding
Not correct at all. The advancement in communication has made subcultures evolve faster than was ever possible, and they frequently "infect" mainstream feeds a lot. Why do you think so many people are freaking out over cultural fragmentation? All over you see shit like
>"fringe ideas keep gaining traction wtf"
>"what ever happened to shame??"
>"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people"
>"Look at all this degeneracy"
>"Society is cooked if people are able to do shit like this"

Much of this is correct but the conclusion is incorrect. These forms of interaction are very much how normies think, extremely aware of social hierarchies and using conformity as an existential "survival mechanism" against being exiled from a group or being socially targetted by psychos or BPD fuckers. This shit is breaking down though, there's much more talk about authenticity, truthseeking, and how mentally damaging it is to have to be masking and acting performatively 24/7 with no breaks for even normal people, not just autists.
Social media is a pain in the ass but it's one step of necessary chemotherapy on societal cancer.

>This is the number 1 thing retards don't understand when they talk about abolishing copyright
That's the intent. ANYONE can. Money comes from doing work, not from monopolizing an idea and sending thugs to attack any who copy it.
