Does anyone think that the rape gang inquiry will actually achieve anything?
It will be used just like Brexit was - a way to dispel populist unrest as a pressure release valve. I mean come the fuck on, inquiries are already pantomimes, who thinks that the purpose of an inquiry is to genuinely get to the bottom of an issue and hold those responsible accountable? Stop having a fucking laugh.
The Labour government is supposed to earnestly inquire into rape gangs formed of one of their core voter blocs, while also being protected systematically by their own party apparatus? What the fuck are you people smoking?
There will be one or two sacrificial twats thrown under the bus, after which the government will declare the matter solved completely, arguing that any further discussion of the topic is unnecessary as they've already held and inquiry, and that any further calls for accountability (i.e. firing, jail time, pensions revoked, criminals deported) are absurd 'far right' agitation because the inquiry 'already looked into it all and worked out that two random civil servants were responsible and have been sent to jail for five years each'.
