I think quite a few people expect him not to be the biggest bad. There's a lot they're keeping under wraps, it would be weird if they came out with Sylux only for him to just simply be the villain the entire game.
Let's just hope they are in fact reading the room on him instead of ending up with Federation Force-type monkey paw.
Him getting knocked on his ass is good to show Samus is in form, but having had just that makes it a little weird already.
