The sequel's story might go to some more interesting places when it's actually finished, considering that there are higher stakes and Melinoe's ride-or-die loyalty to the Gods as a long-time child soldier of theirs is a much more blatant flaw than Zagreus ever had.

But then again, I think the more laid-back personal stakes of Zagreus trying to leave for the surface of his own accord while everyone in Hell just rolled their eyes at him for even trying was a unique part of the game's charm.
