Honestly why? I'm perfectly content alone. I enjoy the peace and quiet structure of my life, and whenever I feel the need for social contact I go out with friends. What do I have to gain from having to compromise and adjust to another person? This might be worth it if you had some long-term security when starting a family, but with 1/3 of marriages ending in divorce your odds are better at russian roulette. I don't want to waste so much time and effort on a marriage that is not unlikely to end in failure and wouldn't only depress me, but also traumatize my kids.
