Its an instinct built into humans. Like how some animals can instantly tell when a member of the herd is sick and leaves them behind. Most human males instantly get a weird "vibe" when they see a gay man, even if they cant tell what it is. If we were still cavemen living in the woods or nomadic tribesmen, this "vibe" would make us remove these guys from our tribe.
