The Chinese tokarevs we got were built for export to North America in like the 70s up until the 90s. There aren’t many legitimate milsurp tokarevs from china.
But that’s not a bad thing. They eventually had the best manufacturing process for making the guns because they did it for so long. The bluing has had less time to wear off on the Chinese guns too.
Avoid the 9mm they’re shit I hear. I have a 7.62 tok with its original import box it’s a great gun for the price.
I just notice it’s really picky with ammo. Some brands of ammo shoot horribly through it. Other ammo can hit a nickel on a string.
The trigger is weird, and ergonomics are shit. But it’s a neat gun firing an oddball cartridge. Avoid the ones with the import safety on the trigger, the frame added safety’s are also shit but easy to get rid of. Half cock hammer is the intended safety and all Chinese toks have it.
