To me, Ys 7 is the coolest Adol look. Of course it had to be the last game where he visibly equips a shield and has armor on instead of looking like a gay leather fashion model
And the "gets captured, tortured and put into a supposedly unwinnable gladiatorial death match which he then wins" plot point, my absolute favorite in any fantasy story.
