that's true but they were already pretty technologically advanced enough to even capture elifis and run warp experiments and shiver star and the fact that star dream had cloning tech makes me think they are, at least in part responsible.

elifis is who let leon be able to speak according the figurines, the real mystery is how the vortex to dreamland even opened in the first place, waddle dee's were not there yet and elifis was still contained, elifin wasn't powerful enough to do something that big on his own at that point and was on the run from the beast pack, perhaps something else caused that to happen, the starries could hold the answer, the meteors caused the night sky to appear after all, this just might be me being schitzo but the intro to Kirby 64 had the night sky and shards raining from the sky as well and that was able to create portals much like elifin and the various ancient machines, the game already borrows from 64 already so it isn't too crazy of a theory.
