I believe mostly from a practical point of view. I attend mass because it's a good rhythm/routine for me, and it helps the community by keeping a complex institutional block against degeneracy. I say prayers because I believe it focuses my mind and goals and desires, and that's important. I believe the canon is an important symbolical metaphor from which we can all learn. But I don't take it very seriously; reality is that we can readily observe. Even history going back 200 years is uncertain let alone 2000. But i digress
Religion is useful, on the social level and individual levels, i.e., it's conducive to growth. Maybe start going for that angle. The problem is people love muh symbols and muh ancient esoteric knowledge. That's why it ought to remain more like Plato's noble lie. Hth op
