Marines canonically use much larger bolts then ones intended for usage by normal humans. Normal bolt shells are also not intended for AT roles but instead APHE because Marines fight so many things that simply poking holes in them with a regular bullet doesn't make them die in a timely manner so instead you need to remove large chunks of flesh, while they do have different shell types for AT and other roles.
