Picrel is one of the screen backgrounds in twewy. The game prefers to keep all the distortion (for longer maps it adds a little curvature but the distorted perspective is still kept for the most part.
Admittedly, it's one of the very few styles that pulls it off in an aesthetically pleasing way, but still. I much prefer it to blending perspective. But then again, I also love the style of Full Throttle/Grim Fandango/Monkey Island etc where they chose angles carefully to introduce the least distortion sometimes.
