If anything was a terrible idea, it was falling for the "reach a new audience" meme, making a third game with a new story and cast, while not fully committing to the idea, bringing back your most popular character and shilling their return in the marketing campaign about how prominent she'll be and how impactful the choices of the last season will be, only for that to be a lie since Clementine is basically a side character with limited screen-time and the flashbacks that justify her inclusion, destroy the endings of the previous game in the laziest way possible. Making a game with a massive identity crisis that fails to attract a new audience while the fans are now pissed and burned out.
