Say GV3 doesn't exist; how do we make Gunvolt more depressing? I'm thinking maybe something like:

>main antagonist is the shadowy patriarchal figure of the sympathetic adept group you're killing through the whole game
>heavily hinted at being Gunvolt's dad in the last story arc
>was a collegue and former friend of Dr. Kamizono, but they split up over ideals concerning adepts (Cope's dad thinks they're monsters, GV's dad thinks they're the future)
>had a Light vs Wily rivalry for a bit, before Cope's dad had him exiled to the mainland, placing a curse on that will kill him if he sets foot on Japan
>Wife disappeared (hinted to Kaoruko cousinfuckerfags win again)
>Cope's dad got the kid, and for irony, turns him into an adept (adepts are the future, right, well let's see how your kid likes this)
>GV's dad is a broken man
>got radicalized while traveling the world and seeing DEAD ADEPT KIDS
>Has some sort of big plan to fix things and save the world (like there will be no discrimination if I force everyone into being an adept with septimal radiation; if a quarter of the global population die from it, that's worth it, adepts are the future of humanity)
>Doesn't realize GV is his kid until near the end of the fight
>GV kills him, and just brushes off his mysterious last words as he usually does

As for Cope's route, he'd recognize the guy, but the guy would be trashing Copen's father and telling Copen he's not worthy of carrying his mother's name.
