Magic is plenty real and electricity is the power behind it. The idea that magic is some strange force beyond the norm is the biggest defense against normies realize it is all around them.

This doesn't just apply to appearances but function too. Your phone is effectively the most advanced scrying mirror one could imagine. I've described this before and people deny deny deny. Apparently only fireballs directly from the palm could ever count as magic.
This makes all the "would be witch/wizard, waiting on hogwarts level" people look even sillier. There's always some implication that they'd be some advanced prodigy in a world of magic but here theyre a boring person who cant even understand how electricity works, let alone understanding why that matters with different types of technology. Ill never believe the would-be prodigies because they dont even work with the magic all around them. Technomancy is real and important.
