Here's a QRD on what the (relatively) new Dragon Ruler support does just for posterity's sake
>2 new LIGHT/DARK Baby Rulers. Spectral searches 2 Dragon Rulers while Nebulus revives 2 Dragon Rulers with different attributes from your banishment
>2 Xyz monsters that are the adult forms of the above monsters. Chasma(LIGHT) lets you dump a Ruler to duplicate its effect when discarded, and floats into a Dragon Ruler when destroyed
>Eclipse(DARK) on-summon can target a Baby Ruler in your GY or banishment to summon its adult form from your Deck or banishment, and has a Spell/Trap negate
>1 new Xyz monster that is basically a Gandora that can conditionally turn itself into a towers beatstick
Basically they can just do what they normally do a little bit more, so they aren't relegated to Dragon Link fodder like people feared they would. That's due in part to the fact that D.Link is dead in the west thanks to Savage Dragon/Baronne/Apollousa getting banned, but also because they're frankly just worse as Dragon Link pieces than their own standalone deck.
The floodgate setup is neat, but also one of the most heavily-telegraphed plays in the world. Chasma and Eclipse can both be stopped with Effect Veiler and Imperm (albeit with more difficulty in the latter's case), and Tidal's effect can be stopped by something as simple as Ash Blossom in the event that they hard-draw into it. That's also ignoring common HTs in the format like Lancea to stop them from banishing and again, Droll.
