The dumbest thing is that all this is going to do is either drive people to one of the many thousands of obscure poorly regulated porn sites that host genuine extreme content and are often plagued with malware, or give huge chunks of the population a crash course in using technology to get around government regulations. Literally nothing good is going to come of this for anyone, not least of all the government.
