I didn't say consequences don't matter or that there shouldn't be some form of punishment if you mess up, just that it's not nearly as important as intentions when judging someone's actions morally. In your example that moron will likely have ptsd and be haunted by what he did for the rest of his life and probably get jail time but there is a reason why we differentiate between 1st degree murder and manslaughter. And the punishment shouldn't be the same, obviously. This is also where "capacity to re offend" comes into play.

It does matter tho. Do you judge mentally deficient/ill the same as you would someone more capable? You should have more understanding for one over the other based on capabilities and intensions I think this is obvious. And again, I'm not saying you should be ok with it. Just that maybe don't overreact when someone says something stupid if they didn't mean to offend. While I don't disagree much I feel like you're trying to excuse some shitty outbursts like ITS MA'AM type shit and that wouldn't be reasonable imo. Just be nice to people yay.

Yes. One of my pet peeves is when people act like they knew what you think when they have no idea. Maybe it's because I spent time with very mentally ill people I just learned that some people think in very strange ways and that reasons they do things arent always what you would guess. It kinda pisses me off when someone is confident about your intentions. Like, why is he so sure when he doesn't even know you lol.
But such people are usually bad faith ideologues so
