What do you think deteriorates faster, a 1kWh battery that is constantly depleted or a 60kWh that is never going below 20% or above 80% in charge?
In terms of battery tech, we're already Gen 2, maybe Gen 3 of EVs. The Nissan Leaf of 2010 had completely different battery cooling and durability, then came the Model S which was fairly long-lasting but was easily damaged and needed replacements. And now the current gen with EV batteries rarely needing replacements, if ever.
