I feel like Digimon at least knows their real height but has to nerf it for gameplay purposes (following, in-battle). But does let them stay at max height, towering far above human characters.
In cinematics we see Examon being city-sized even if we gotta compromise on gameplay.

The anime got the sizes right according to what they should be but the games are attempting to course correct.
