Not an answer but here's my current mouse escapade:
A mouse infiltrated my living room and won't leave, but after two days of trying to get him to go back the way he came I chased him under the fridge and them taped him in with paper tape. I read that mice hate capsicin so I threw him a handful of dried chillis, and I pointed two desk lamps at the corridors besides the fridge at night so he doesn't feel comfy to roam.
For some reason this has worked for about 36 hours already; I even went to sleep and he's still behind the paper tape.
It's pathetic but this mouse was a real menace for those first two days. Tomorrow I'm getting 4 live capture traps in the mail and when I've set them up I'll open the enclosure, maybe leave out a little dish with water too so the mouse isn't too parched to imagine taking the peanutbutter bait.
