The interesting thing is the COMT*H (Val) (which is the OG variant) has like 3-4x faster neurotransmitter breakdown per each copy you have compared to the mutation variant COMT*L (VAL). So if you get 2 copies of the mutation gene your brain is basically hard wired with built in adderall and it's side effects. And there's been plenty of research looking into links between schizophrenia and having polymorphism where you inherit one of each gene. (like there's so many studies idk if it's true im too lazy to read them)
And the mutation gene is more common across European genetics and a couple other places. But less common in places like East Asia or Mexico
