Since you care enough about this topic to have a timestamp saved for the one Rumiko interview you can latch onto c then surely you know about how Takashi Shiina went into more detail about this mansion. How Sesshōmaru had it specially prepared for Rin to raise the children in, live like a princess, and have dozens of servants to cater to her every need. And how she decided she didn’t care for that lifestyle and missed Kaede, Kagome, and Inuyasha, and thought raising all three children with them was more fun. Oh, look! Picrel is even a page in Chapter 5, specifying it was even Rin’s decision not to live in this luxurious mansion!
