Best advice with stax is don't fuck with lands. People get upset about that more than anything. Only thing I run is Damping Sphere and that usually slides because it only affects lands that tap for more than 1 mana which is greedy.
Always approach stax as trying to enforce "fair magic" instead of trying to lock people out of the game or stall it out
