Is there a reason on this card they put the second half of the passive effects below the active abilities? Why not put all the passive effects on top? It's not often but sometimes some sperg insists the second passive effect is actually part of the second active ability.
>Hm, I should throw together a life gain deck
>Let's see.. White is obvious.. Green has some nice payoffs, and-

I need a third colour. Please. Azban, or something. Fuck.
>>96267000 (OP)>TWPurple
WAIT SHIT NO!
>>96267014Wotc does this kind of formatting if doing the activated ability leads into something else, see armored scrapgorger
>>96267028Just play the lifegain guy
>>96267000 (OP)>"What is your favorite color?"Black probably. I am incurably edgy and can't escape the stereotype.
My only mono deck is red though. Gotta cast fast is the best way to play monocolors
Asking for favorite color combination might have been more interesting.
>>96267047If it's so easy to cry "For Glory!" then how come there's still no mtg card with that name, Will?!
>>96267000 (OP)>"What is your favorite color?"It's a hard choice. I like them all, but red the least. It's definitely Bant colors. Blue for tricks, white for wipes, green for ramp and big creatures. If I had to choose, green.
>>96267066>For an underwhelming member of the incarnation cycle that inexplicably has a cost even though none of the others do, i guess white can just go fuck itself! Not quite as catchy.
>TQ
We talking mono-color?
White I guess.
Boros is we are talking color combos
Replace Mimic Vat with pic? Thoughts?
What is your average/default number of lands?
What is the fewest lands you have in a deck and who is the commander?
What is the most lands you have in a deck and who is the commander?
>>96267094I fucking hate that there's now 2 different UB sets with new cycles of ramp rocks in them.
>>9626709735
Any other answer is no games retardery. Go up or down depending on context, but 35 is the platonic standard.
Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
Genuinely how do you build her at bracket 3? She infinites with every persist creature + a sac outlet, and has a free wheel/graveyard filler ETB. I was thinking of doing her with a bunch of flicker effects into a mass reanimate, but even that seems too powerful
How long until they print a cycle that says shit like "Green spells you cast cost {g} less to cast"? probably coming out in MH4, summer 2027.
>>96267000 (OP)>TQBlue! No, yellow!
>>96267097Don't listen to the other guy its 36 but its fast becoming 38.
>>96267115She's absurdly strong, just build Terra instead and put her in the 99.
>>96267133>don't listen to the guy who knows better than me
>>96267130do NOT look up emerald medallion
>>96267115just dont use persist creatures duh
>>96267130Uhhh the defiler cycle, though that's locked for permanent only.
>>96267155Don't be so insecure anon I am not talking to you
tatyova vs Aesi for simic landfall which one would you pick?
>>9626709737 always seems like a decent middle ground to me but I think you can get shaved down to 35 if you're really light cost focus and build tight, or up to 40 if you run landfall or really really heavy curve. I like 36 on most of my stuff since I always run fuck tons of draw and that always seems to be the issue to me in decks over actual land amount a lot of games, when players start to putter out mid game and what have you. Low land is an early game issue, low draw is the big issue past that imo
>>96267115Gavin really underestimated using commanders as combo pieces
Anyways just continue to use celes in b3 to force people to bring grave hate and removal, durdling around isnt viable anymore in this bracket
>>96267115Stop using brackets is how
>>96267093You'll be need playing in sultai since most of the good zombie cards are in dimir.
>>96267190Aesi because he's bigger,an explore on a stick, and 6 cmc is easy enough to do in ramp that 5 cmc isnt a good enough benefit
>>96267200Stop using bans too and embrace the proxy moxen like i did
>>96267168you mean the card that doesn't at all do what I talked about in my post? why should I not look that up?
learn to read, you fucking mongoloid
>>96267176yeah, fair. I didn't really think about the cycle because I think they did a great job conceptually of "phyrexianizing" your spells, but mechanically it is the closest to what I was thinking of. maybe a generic version is even closer than I was thinking.
High power commander is objectively not fun. Playing precons with friends is the best commander experience come at me.
>>96267077This is pretty fucking powerful, though. Isn't it an endlessly reusable 2W protection spell?
anyone else have to strictly enforce the Wizards Of The Coast brackets/guidelines/banlist with their playgroup because you have ONE friend that will take advantage of it and ruin the experience for everyone?
>>96267238you should be nicer to people
>>96267000 (OP)Nice trips, lets make this a good thread.
>TQBlack, I love the "power for loss" trope, makes decisions/deck-building interesting and engaging.
>>96267269you'd really like Rowan
(((They))) are afraid of us greenchads.
This is autistic but bear with me. I'm wanting to make an angel themed deck with Liesa as either my commander or a strong presence in my 99.
In lore are there any good aligned demons or more morally righteous black color characters that I could include that would make sense in the context of helping a divine entity? Even if it makes the deck weaker, I really don't want half my deck to be divine intervention of holy angels and the other half to be rapefister the barb dick devil commander of the seven hells, I want more black/demon characters that could coexist with things like Avacyn and townsfolk for flavors sake.
Like I said, autistic, but I like thematic shit
>>96267260I convinced my playgroup to let me use prime time in my simic landfall deck as a tutor for evolving wilds and fabled passage but it opened a can of worms of all my friends dicking around with jeweled lotus on turn 1 into krenko mob boss etc so we had to enforce the bracket and banlist rules to a T since then
>>96267225Why? Commander was never that way. But it was without brackets all of a few months ago.
>>96267260>bracketsThey aren't a ruleset, so, no. They're also gay.
>guidelinesThe fuck is that?
>banlistNo, never seen someone who refuses to use the banlist.
>>96267094>Got a billion Darkness, Water and Fire Crystals and 3 duplicate Mythics of Selesnya Yuna and Vivi with the other 3 being mono blue Gogo, mono white Cloud and the Cloud Strife version of Najeela from my packsI know I shouldnโt complain but it still sucks it occurred to that extent.
As for your question anon, no real reason not to run both but Darkness having the life gain and mana discount on it makes it a little better in my opinion
>>96267215Golari zombies too if you want to play glissa.
>>96267097I go with 38
It always hurts to have to cut that extra pet card, but I do genuinely find that it helps with consistency.
>>96267251I 100% agree. The best edh experience I have had in years was when my friend showed up with those starter decks from a few years ago. They actually function and the games end by like turn 12-14.
We should totally hang out.
>>9626709733 for me in most decks except for my Captain Sisay/ Karametra deck and my Edric deck where theyโre each 30
>>96267404thoughts on gisa and geralf as a commander in general
>>96267427I liked them well enough, I think all of the commanders represented in those decks did an excellent job at enabling gameplay without being hyper efficient.
Given a real budget I could see them being hella fun. I mean we all like Karador, right? Zombie tribal is just the price of being in blue instead of selesnya.
>>9626709738 average. 50 in my Azusa deck. I think 36 is the lowest in my Horde of Notions 5 color.
Gave tasha dimir a run
It's only as strong as the decks your taking shit from, shoulda taken the theft pill sooner
EoE is just WotC putting spaceships and shit in to magic to prep for Star Wars, isn't it.
>>96267295spike

>>96267481Know how you feel. Friendgroup went through a nuclear-level arms race recently to the point where Noyan-Dar just cannot keep-up anymore.
>>96267481Happens to every table eventually. Proxy your cards and keep upping the power level until your friends realize how retarded it is and willingly go back to low power.
>>96267404wish we could hang but internet rules say you're probably 800 miles away
Should I buy a crypt and jeweled lotus in case they get unbanned? They're nasty cheap right now.
>>96267504>Proxy your cards and keep upping the power level until your friends realize how retarded it is and willingly go back to low powerNo, this will just lead to you playing CEDH and being more miserable. Ask your friends to power down like an adult.
>>96267462Hey! Stop that!
>>96267481My pod has a guy that comes from time to time who's actually a really nice fella, but he's a massive whale and is incapable of making a deck without rhystic study/force of will/one ring/some other annoying super expensive shit and is always surprised when we gang up on him. Thankfully we don't delve into those shenanigans. I did lol when he said his other whale pod lost collectively about 3k dollars when dockside and the others were banned.

>>96267526Are they making better decks or just adding 'staples'?
If their decks are still shitty battletanks you can optimize the fuck out of them still. Good cards dont equal good players
>>96267130Just wanted to say, that I was also going to hit you with the Defiler set. By golly, I just think they're neat.
>>96267481My pod has this guy who brings whis Brazilian brother every now and then and its one of those autist that cannot tell why everyone gangs on him when he plays atraxa

>>96267097Depends on the deck, I run 35 in necrobloom, 28 in kroxa, 21 in ral, and technically 0 in nu mimeoplasm. My average land count is about 27 or 28
>>96267734Whats my best option then? I goldfish on moxfield but that only gets you so far.

It also has an adventure mode these days that lets you walk around a map and battle/collect cards I think.
>>96267717What do you mean? I still have my Mana Crypt I pulled from the 90s. What happened to it?
>checks cardsOh it's a Mana Vault. I don't have a Mana Crypt.
>people that go below 36 lands
Legit have no idea how you guys swing it. 36 is like my absolute hard minimum and even then sometimes I feel like I'm gambling
>>96267977i run 35 lands + 1 mdfc in a mono aggro deck with a 2.15 cmc avg
>>96267915Kek. Based gnome poster.
I think those guys should stay banned, but my zesty elf Rofellos needs to come off the list. Still banned as a commander though.
>>96267977Personally, just have a low curve and make sure you've got enough draw in the deck. It's what works for my usual thirty to thirty four land decks.
>>96267977Absurdly low curve with lots of mana generation through rocks, dorks, and rituals. If you try it with a normal build its gonna crash and burn unless you get insanely lucky.
>>96267989>I think those guys should stay bannedthey will be made GCs precisely to make it clear that there's a difference between b2 & b3; durdling around in b2 won't fly when primetime threatens emrakul after 2 turns at most
>>96267960Honestly she may be one of the cutest cards around. The dress, attitude, and flavor text are just great.
>>96267984Maybe that's my problem then, since my cmc is like a 3.4 with some cheat to get equipment into play without cost, running below 36 in that deck feels like suicide
>>96268008What's the deck? Surely there's some in archetype ways to get some draw?
>>96268008i'll personally run 40 lands in a deck with a ~3.5 cmc avg
in 60 cards no one would dare deviate from 24 lands if their cmc was that high; believe it or not 40 lands is the 99 cards equivalent
>>96267283NTA but I discovered her and now I want to run a greedy deck that wins by copying spells like Hailfire,Exsanguinate, Crackle with Power, and Jaya's Ingerno
>>96267915I just bought Rofellos and am thinking about buying more for the same reason. Feel like it's way overdue, and its already expensive.
>>96267977>low curve >good concentration of rocks>good amount of cantrips and draw>mull for decent openersRule of thumb for almost every deck I play is 40 mana sources. It dosent matter if it's from lands, rocks, dorks, rituals, whatever

>>96267481Every single pod inevitably becomes an arms race, but its a cycle. People will grow to hate the ubiquity of meta decking and will start to scale back down when they realize no one is having fun anymore. I've seen pods nearly crumble under the weight of netdecking.

Switching from fogs to extra turns seems to have made it less fun to play against though. And the big fog turn was pretty hype when it happened. Maybe I'll just go back to fog meta.

Of course if they did this standard and the other formats would finally die, since Commander centric sets would outsell the garbage by 5:1 minimum, so it'll never happen, and Gayvin and co will continue to pretend like they can make one set that works for all the wildly different formats while unceasing power creep hitting the shelves every 6 weeks kills interest in the brand as a whole.

WotC took over the Rules Committee because they wanted to. The """death threats""" were a smokescreen.
Think for a second, WotC claimed that somehow the RC would be safer if they took over, but uh...how? RC still made the decision. WotC didn't reverse the decision. And WotC isn't hiring armed guards to defend their employees houses or some shit. So how exactly is WotC taking over the format making the RC safer? It isn't. >>96268698Have you ever been onto Amazon or another online store and the URL has been extremely long and probably had something like "ref" before a long string of letters and numbers? Yeah that's a tracking URL. Sites use them for analytics. It lets them know how their site is being used. What kinds of things are people sharing? When do people access the shared page after it was viewed? Shit like that.
I mean I wouldn't worry about it, I doubt Youtube is putting up a conspiracy board on their wall tying your account to 4chan anons with red string, it's just something that people who are conscious of their online privacy will delete because the link works fine without it and you don't need to assist these companies in building a profile on you.

>>96268665>How did this happen? It's because UB are the only sets where Maro and his band of merry dumbfucks actually have a boot put on their necks and they can't just shit every dumbfuck idea their dumbfuck minds produce into the final product. Even though they pay for the license no successful company wants their image tarnished by an inferior product that doesn't sell well, even if it's being done by a third party. If Square Enix licensed the right for Hasbro to make FF action figures they'd lose their shit if Hasbro made a bunch of garbage that just sat on the shelves and gave the few kids who got them lead poisoning.
Successful companies who want to win have people embedded with Maro's crew to make sure the dumbfucks don't create a garbage set. Some companies, like Marvel and Ubisoft, don't care and will let the MTG design team make their product look as shitty as possible and only care about the money they got from the license, but many more will demand a good representation of their IP because they think further out than the next quarter.
Going forward we'll be able to tell which sets are good based on how strongly the UB IP owner defends their brand, and all the dumbfuck design choices will be relegated to UW and weak IPs. Nerds will catch onto this and start scalping harder for UB they know is protected by their IP owners, but Maro and the dumbfuck brigade will never figure it out.

god, this is such a trash card unless you're running like two commanders...when suddenly it's incredible. It's one of my cornerstone cards in my Mr. House deck, and can solely help me win games, but I cannot imagine it working in pretty much ANY other deck due to how slow it is.

What you need to do is justify the card being so beyond anything else you could be doing that it's disparity justifies the ban. But you know you're not capable of wading into arguments like that and it's so much easier to just assert that something is "the best"

The characters are delightfully well written and it's very clear the sort of people they are in just a couple episodes. The world is rich and varied. Some things are a little overexplained and there's no reason for characters to be referring to bending as "magic" in the first few episodes other than for the benefit of the audience, but the show is constantly moving and every episode is a complete little adventure.
Shame the writers completely raped their own setting and forgot how to write good stories in Korra.

>>96269148>I can't conceptualize of a company knowing of ways to inflate a number while avoiding legal troubleYour brain is underdeveloped.
First of all they can remove all context. Do you know how much Magic sets usually sell for comparison? Do you know how quickly? Do you know what periods are measured? Do you know if Hasbro's methods for measuring have remained consistent over the years?
Then you can word the announcement cleverly. Everyone is parroting "sold 200 million in one day" but what did Hasbro themselves actually say? What was their wording? What do they regard as a "sale"? Did they sell it to third parties or to their own subsidiaries?
And then fail to follow up. Did they actually MAKE 200M or was some of it cancelled or refunded? Was some of it contingent on things that ultimately didn't happen? If I "sell" you a hundred cars and you bring 99 back because you only meant to buy 1, I can still crow about selling you 100 cars because I did.
Bless you if you're genuinely so naรฏve you don't know this shit is commonplace in marketing.

>>96269031>>96269043this artwork is the only reason I'm playing this awful card
Fact checking the 200 million in one day claim from Final Fantasy
This page says LotR and MH2 were the best selling sets of all time with a LIFETIME revenue of 200M each
https://investor.hasbro.com/magic-gathering
Now obviously that page won't have been updated recently, don't misunderstand me.
But the latest investor call from July says Magic saw 23% growth due to Final Fantasy, which set a new record.
https://investor.hasbro.com/news-releases/news-release-details/hasbro-reports-second-quarter-2025-financial-results
Now I may be stupid, but if the previous best selling sets of all time only made 200M over months or years, and the bump in Magic's revenue Q2 with Final Fantasy included was only 23%, it is not possible for FF to have sold 200M in 1 day. That would be an increase in the hundreds of percent.
The operating profit was 247M for the quarter, which again, is not 1 day.
>>96269298so what's the best selling set of all time then anon? is mtg even profitable? how is hasbro even alive if mtg - its only profitable ip at this point - isn't even selling anything?

About 2 board wipes would help too, as a way to break board parity a little bit. Cards like Single Combat (50 cents) and Cataclysmic Gearhulk (1.00) seem like good fits.
>>96269901These two should be fantastic since it's a mana neutral draw a card if you bring it back from the graveyard.
>>96269964thanks for responding
>>96268941>hate anime>like airbender I know itโs Nickelodeon and not Japanese but come on, itโs basically the same fucking thing

The endless cycle.
>Creatures suck because they die to removal
>Make protection so you can make creatures resistant to removal
>Now protection is considered mandatory to keep your creatures alive
>Print some protection on the big expensive creatures to compensate for their cost so you don't need to separately pay for their protection on top of the actual creature
>Now removal sucks because it doesn't do its one job against the creatures with built-in protection
>Make removal that gets around protection
>Now protection sucks because it doesn't do its one job
>So now you print stronger protection that makes creatures resistant to removal...
You know the weird thing is Konami already discovered what the endgame of this looks like with Turtle/Towers gameplay (it sucks and they aimed to never repeat that experience).
>>96269479I havenโt seen this guy. I have an ilharg deck thatโs completely outclassed by every merit apparently
God damnit
>>96269901The moment people see you have repeatable forced sacrifice cards you'll probably be targeted out of the game. I'd reconsider how many of those you want to run unless you like being targeted down.
>>96270018Alas, my problem with BW abdel.
>>96270006>more mana >has to attack >creature is โattackingโ so doesnโt trigger โwhenever ____ attacksโ, so only ETB effects wew. Guy in my pod has been playing him wrong apparently. Sorry for your loss
>>96269901You can also consider some equipment with major buff. Squall is equipped with double strike so just raising his power by 3 can put a fast clock on the table.
>>96270039it's easier to make him unblockable at 3 power though and the equip cost is the biggest hurdle - greatsword would be fine, warhammer at least gives lifelink AND trample, hero's blade might actually be more useful for other dorks
>>96270003Eventually we will reach the point where any interaction across the board at all is impossible and the format will finally be as casual as the proles want it to be

>>96270052Better do a good job or you're gonna get GOOFED
>>96270034They need to rewrite the rules on how "attacking" works ASAP, it's even more stupid than how Protection works.
Picrel is a good example for this shit
>if you make a "tapped and attacking" token, those attacking tokens get Double Strike >yea but they never attacked a player though, so no cards for youThey should fix their game

>>96267525What kind of fucking retard pays those kind of prices for commander of all things.
>>96268167Why would do that when we could have a weird looking guy with gender dysphoria?
The thing that baffles me is they seem to have no conception of how fucking lame they are.
>>96268328Itโs all over the standard meta. Void and warp are solid mechanics that work in all kinds of lists. Voids probably the better of the two since it slots into anything with tokens.
>>96268594can't help you, but here's a different card that represents you turning into a creature
How did the first anon ever even find the shit video? He has thousands of streams where he spouts senseless nonsense and probably had about 100 subs max at the time.
>>96268673WoTC didn't want to take over the RC, they were much happier having some losers take the flak for free for the banlist. The RC pushed it back to WoTC because they were tired of getting shit on by randos on the internet
>>96269854>taps supreme verdict
>>96269868I have no idea. I saw the deck idea on one of those shorts, built it, then found a discount build list and mashed my original deck with that discount list.

How did wizard translated sami into other regions? you cannot do pronoun bullshit without breaking real languages
>>96269638Hexproof is still pretty good but being invincible is kinda just OK
